Summer School on Iran
Would you and your friends like to do something different this
summer? Between Monday 9 July and Friday 13 July Asia House will
host a Summer School programme on traditional and contemporary
cultures of Iran. Led by experts from the country itself, this unique
range of workshops will give you a deeper insight into Persian culture.
Create your own Persian Calligraphy with leading expert Alin Mahvelati
Learn about the epic, mystic and lyric style of Persian Poetry with
Professor Tajalli Keshavarz
Explore origins and symbolism of Norouz with one of the authors of
“New Persian Cooking” Jila Dana Haeri
Decode Iranian cinema with film critic, journalist, filmmaker and
lecturer Parviz Jahed
Experience native people’s music of Iran with Amin, Parham and
Zartosht from the London based Iranian band Ajam
Shape up your communications skills and cultural understanding
with Abdi Rafiee, Persian language teacher
Asia House is a non-profit, non political organisation that promotes
Informed understanding and the mutual exchange of ideas, building
stronger relationships between the diverse communities of Europe
and Asia.
